Dr. William C. ScottBriarwood is proud to offer an in-house veterinary dental specialist, Dr. William C. Scott, of Advanced Veterinary Dental Care. Dr. Scott has undergone extensive training and study to perform intensive dental treatments and is vcurrently in 2 training programs to become a Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry and to become board certified in veterinary dentistry. He dedicates approximately 150 hours per year to continuing education specifically in veterinary dentistry by attending dental lectures and labs and one on one instruction with board certified dentists.

If your pet has dental disease or injury, Dr. Scott will be glad to consult with you on the best method of treatment, explain procedures and options, and follow your pet’s progress through recheck appointments and follow-up calls.

Periodontal Treatment and Surgery Periodontal Treatment and Surgery - Periodontal disease is the most common disease diagnosed in dogs and cats and probably the least treated correctly. We provide advanced treatment options that promote reducing or eliminating periodontitis and retention of teeth.

Periodontal Treatment and Surgery Endodontics - Endodontics is root canal therapy.  This procedure is used to treat pulp disease and is most commonly used to treat fractured teeth.  Often ignored, this is a painful, serious condition.  Ignored exposed pulp from fractured teeth leads to tooth loss, abscessation and possible systemic illness

Periodontal Treatment and Surgery Orthodontic Treatment - Malocclusions often cause oral pain due to tooth-to-soft tissue contact or tooth-to-tooth contact.  This is a very common condition and treatable in most cases with tooth movement, reshaping or selective extraction

Periodontal Treatment and Surgery Oral Surgery - We are able to treat a large number of oral conditions requiring surgery such as mandibular and maxillary fractures using wire and intraoral acrylic splinting, oral tumor resection and debulking, mandibulectomy, maxillectomy, surgical extractions, and palatal defects.

Periodontal Treatment and Surgery Oral Medicine - We offer treatment for difficult conditions such as Feline Lymphocytic Plasmacytic Stomatitis, Canine Ulcerative Paradental Stomatitis and benign and malignant oral tumors.

Periodontal Treatment and Surgery Restorative Dentistry - Restorative dentistry is aimed at treating damaged teeth.  This includes treatment of enamel hypoplasia, cavity lesions and traumatic injuries requiring crown buildup, reshaping and/or placement of metal crowns for both return to function and anesthetics.
